first post - Vegas Pro 9 and ... EDIUS

Hi.
I just got my first camcorder.
Trouble.

Anyway, Ive posted a couple videos here and here. The first one was thrown together using EDIUS Pro 5.

My main question: anyone else here try/use EDIUS. They have a free 30-day try out period. I'm pretty sure it's the full version of 5.0.

Can anyone compare it with Vegas Pro 9? And how much will Vegas Pro run me, if I go with that?

Also, can anyone recommend any LJ communities for people just getting started in video-making & editing - beside this one?
