Converting woes
I'm trying to convert VOB files I ripped using DVD Shrink to MPG. When I do, I get these annoying lines (see below).  I've tried converting to mpg 1 and 2. I've tried NTSC and Pal. I even tried converting to AVI first... I get the same thing. The VOB file looks great, but nothing I try to convert it to. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

convertprob(The lines aren't shown very well here, but perhaps it gives an idea.)

You need to use a deinterlace filter. I don't know if DVDshrink has that, but I use VirtualDubMod to convert, and I add a deinterlace filter.

A vob file is an mpeg file. You should be able to change the extension and put it through MPEG Streamclip to deinterlace. If you want me to try, upload it to something like box or sendspace, send me the link in a reply here or at chakbalam@gmail.com I'll download it and we'll see what happens if I deinterlace it with MPEG Streamclip.

You're welcome. I've had some frustrating vidding days so I know how it can make your hair go grey. :)
